"Inspiration exists, but it must find you working." - Pablo Picasso I am a content creator, easiest way to put it. I create content for branding, marketing (online & offline), advertising, and social media. Perks of the job? working with anyone and everyone. But sometimes ideas don't come and you can't do much about it. So I collected a bunch of hopefully helpful tips of what helps me work. - 1. Space The environment you're in often helps put you in a mood. Clean. Organised. It helps the mind with the creative juices. Favourite work spaces: DNA office, ChinaHouse@Old Court House, KULTURE, Madeleine, SUKHA, Earthlings, The Charcoal, MY HOUSE 2. Food I'm not talking about a bowl of laksa or a plate of special chicken rice right smack on my work desk. Light food, drinks; tea. Nothing too messy, though my laptop stains would beg to differ. Favourite work snacks: Shapes biscuits, citrus fruits, coconut water, peach or chamomile tea, cake (not too sweet) 3. Research It is important to create original content, but in order to do that I find it helps to constantly flood myself with examples of good work; because there is plenty. Read. Knowledge is trendy. Favourite *knowledge outlets* : TED talks, Kinfolk, FRANKIE, Cereal, Podcast- Becoming Superhuman 4. Music Multi-tasking is my middle name. I usually need either some background sound, a series (RIVERDALE), or music. It's often music, songs carry emotions and that gets translated into my work. I found this playlist in a the LOCAL WOLVES// ISSUE 50 Something about exploring someone else's playlist, feels almost naughty. Current favourite songs : NYK-FWB, Martin Garrix ft Troye Sivan -There For You, Childish Gambino - REDBONE 5. Take Breaks Kinda like a power nap, take short power breaks. A change of scene. I am a sucker for funny comics. I believe in efficiency than slugging it out without quality. BUT, time yourself. It's like going shopping on a budget. Don't go over and you won't feel guilty. Hope your Sunday is as chilled out as mine!
