Things are packed,
I'm about to embark on a journey that I know I will remember.

In all honesty,
I never expected  to be in this line of work.
I was never the kid with the camera.
Wasn't really interested in technology either.
So sometimes there are little fears that creep up on me...

"WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?"

I don't fully know actually.

There is a big part of me that feels inadequate at times,
But there is a bigger part of me that finds purpose in all these.
Don't get me wrong,
this isn't a security issue;
rather it's a feeling of inadequacy to tell such a big story.
Such a powerful, strong, authentic story.
It is an honour.
It's also a responsibility.

Over the last few months,
I realised that there is much space to improve and develop technically.
There always is.
But the essence of story-telling doesn't change.

To tell a story,
you must first know the story well.
Be present,
be vulnerable,
be ready to feel and to learn.

So instead of trying to piece together a story,
I guess the best thing I can do is just to BE there..
and listen.

"The stories we were told shape us,
and the stories we tell shape others."
