Yayoi Kusama Life is the heart of a rainbow - National Gallery of Singapore I have wanted to go to this exhibition for months! Everyone's instagram feed has been packed with these beautifully curated polka dots that I had a case of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). My first introduction to Yahoo Kusama and her art was probably 2 years ago when I watched an art documentary about her with my close friend, Rachel Gan, who is also an out of this world emerging-artist. So when I found out about the exhibition, I knew I had to go. When I finally planned out a weekend that I could head down to Singapore, I told my parents about it (that I wanted to head down). Little did I know it would turn into a full blown family weekend getaway (missing Pris, we love you). The true exhibition was THE HUMAN PATIENCE. (jokes, not really). However, we really pushed our patience to the limit when we literally waited a combination of nothing short of 3 hours. From lining up to buy tickets, lining up to get into the exhibits, re-lining up to take pictures in the exhibit and lining up to have a turn to get your picture taken. Overall, it was nothing short of wonderful; not just because of Yayoi's beautiful artwork, but more so that I got to have an amazing trip with my parents (favourite people in the world + Pris). Judging by my loaded camera roll, the exhibition was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, the Yahoo Kusama exhibition ended officially on the 3rd of September. So for those that didn't make it, you'll have to wait for the next one (maybe somewhere else). Hotel Jen Orchardgateway by Shangri-La Singapore Hotel Jen is located right above 313 Somerset, Orchardgateway and is this fancy little designer hotel with spacious rooms. The true winner that sets this place apart from loads of hotels I've been to is definitely the pool. The moment I saw the pool area, I went on an instastory frenzy! Japanese food lovers look no further! I basically ate till I couldn't move and then ate some more. Chilli Crabs JUMBO @Boat Quay All in all, I had a pretty darn good weekend with family and close friends. How did your weekend go? xo Joyce
