@ tHe Spring Shopping Mall
So take a break and c'mon down!
A collaboration with Borneo Oktoberfest and GE Sausages led to the birth of this exciting annual event. Integrating two cultures (Bavarian and the Sarawakian), into one event where everyone gets to celebrate over German delicacies and beer in the Sarawakian spirit.
As Sarawakians, we all know how it's basically our culture to get together with colleagues, clients, friends, family (even strangers). WE WILL CELEBRATE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.
The vendors are incredibly friendly, which is something I always appreciate.
Super ready to chat up mini conversations with everyone and just really being in the moment, you can tell that they are enjoying themselves. Their jolly-ness really rubs off on you too.
** Btw, the apple tuak at this stall was major YUUUUMMM!
Match made in heaven.
Be treated to 10 nights of incredible live music daily from 8.30pm onwards, you get to be serenaded while dining. The musical talents set to perform include Pete Kallang, Chien Ng, Mozaik and Atas Pokok, just to name a few.
I for one, love listening to music while having a meal, I feel like it adds to the experience.
Not to mention the cute picnic tables!
and beautifully draped ceilings & food stalls.
I need to get myself one of those dresses, (Traditional Dimdi dress)
For young children, non-alcoholic drinkers and those of you who are watching your waistline...
There's cold pressed juices that never fails to make me 'feel' immediately rejuvenated. It's almost borderline psychological, one bottle of juice and I just feel like I've gone on a week long detox.
Try the green juice, it looks intimidating but I swear it's really good (in taste and for your health too).
With the array of dishes it's fairly hard to make a choice on what to eat. Classic dishes like Flammkuchen (German Pizza), Thuringian Rostbraetal (German Style Pork Chop), German Pork Knuckle and Pretzels are often favourites.
There are also plenty of of "non-pork" options, such as beef burgers, grilled chicken, nachos etc.
Though I am not the biggest fan of beer, I am a pretty big fan of these beer mugs.
Not to mention very cute company.
So make sure you hop on down to tHe Spring, bring your family, your friends...
Heck, drag a stranger!
I love how Kuching is on the rise in terms of mini events, adds to the charm of how we all live in unity. Maybe our unison was birthed from the fact that we literally would celebrate everything.
